Today my cousin who is like my big sister visited my blog.  I was so excited and she thought my cards were beautiful.  Her parents are the happy couple celebrating their 60th anniversary.

     Today's SCS was "Way's to Use It" Challenge.  This weeks challenge was called "Just around the corner".  I used ribbon to embellish my corners.  I dyed white grosgrain with my Marigold Morning and Crisp Cranberry ReInkers.  I did not have an Always Artichoke ReInker so I used my Marker.  The stamps are SU's Happy Everything.  The card stock is SU's Very Vanilla, Cranberry Crisp, Always Artichoke and Marigold Morning.  My fingers are dyed Always Artichoke!

One of the Best Aunt and Uncle in the World

This weekend we are going to a 60th anniversary party for my Aunt Ida and Uncle Fred.  Both of them are more than just an aunt and uncle to me and my kids.  My kids call Aunt Ida "Spider".  This card is for this weeks Sketch Challenge on SCS.  I needed an anniversary card anyway so this is the card I came up with.  I am really liking the new SU InColors.  I used Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava for the card.  I used the polished stone technique which I really enjoy doing.  The stamp sets are Tagger's Dozen and the retired Hostess set Love It.  I think it was one of my favorite Hostess sets.  Aunt Ida and Uncle Fred hope you have a wonderful 60th Anniversary!

Tuesday's Color Challenge was to use Certainly Celery, Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue and Always Artichoke(optional).  I used all four colors. I used Versamark ink and then daubered(is that a word) pastels over it.  I used the SU Bugs and Kisses set.  I have a terrible cold today and had a hard time getting anything done but wanted to get at least a card done even if I did not get any housework done.  I had got this ribbon several months ago from Michael's and have been waiting to use it.  It is a very simple card but it has grown on me.  Might be the cold medicine though.

I tried a new technique!

Monday's on SCS is Try a New Technique Challenge.  The technique was called Tapestry.  Beate John has a tutorial on SCS.  I used the Wild About You set.  The colors are Lovely Lilac and Orchid Opulence from SU. The embossed elephants can be seen better in real life on the top of the card.  I am not sure if I am crazy about this technique.  I am sending it to a good friend of mine with some pretty purple ribbon.  I hope she likes it.

Featured Stamper Sunday

I have been trying to make a card everyday and post to my blog everyday.  So far I have been doing very well.  Dawn told me that if I posted everyday she would visit more.  Hello Dawn if you are visiting.  On Sundays at SCS there is Featured Stamper Challenge where you case a card from that stampers gallery.  This card is cased from Mothermark on SCS. Mothermark's card is the top one. I should have tried to do the clouds but thought I would ruin the card if I did.  Now I have to practice making clouds.  Be on the lookout for a cloud card soon.  For my card I used the Carte Postal and Artfully Asian sets.  The paper and ink are Handsome Hunter, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue.  All SU products.   It has rained all day hear in Southern Louisiana so more the reason to stamp.  I think it is going to rain all week.  I guess I will have to stamp everyday!

SCS Color Challenge

I made this card for the  SCS color challenge.  The colors are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Green Galore.  I used the Artfully Asian set from SU.  I just joined a new yahoo group and I think I might use this card as a RAK.  I borrowed this set from my cousin Roz and do not want to give it back.  I really like this set.  Well I am off to church.  I am staying after church handing out donor forms for the Silent Auction.

Off to work I go

I have to work today so I thought I would share my nursabella with you.  I found this paper at a scrapbook store in Baton Rouge when I went to visit my mom.  She will keep the kids so I can take my time and really look around.  The four colored columns are SU. I usually work in Labor and Delivery but yesterday they had triplets so the nursery is busy so I might get pulled to the nursery.  It is nice to have a change every once in awhile.  The nursabella was in my first order from Stamping Bella.  I like how the blanket came out.  Off to work I go.

A Long Way, Baby

This was one of the first cards I designed on my own.  I did not CASE this from anyone.  I showed it to Rob and he said that is a great card. This was for the kid's Birthday Party last year.  I can not believe what I have learned in the last year.  Like the saying goes "You've come a long way, Baby".  Now I need to come up with a great invitation for them this year since I did one of my best on Phoebe's invitation.  I ordered some sets from SU today for their invitations.  Don't you find when it is for you, you always wait till the last minute and just is not some of your best work.  Not this year Baby.  OK that is what I am saying today.

Joy to the World

Doesn't this card make you want to sing "Joy to the World all the boys and girls, joy to the fishes and the deep blue sea, joy to you and me"?  I used re inkers and plastic wrap to give the circle the globe look.  This was today's sketch challenge on SCS.  I really like The World Over Hostess set from the last catalog.  Of course sense it is retired I am using it more. The words are from the current SU set Happy Everything.  The bold brights are my favorite.  I have had classes the last couple of days and have really enjoyed stamping with everyone.  The kids have enjoyed playing with everyone.  Today they get to play with Jack, Molly and baby Kate.

A night with Chefabella

Last night I was able to stamp with some of my bella's.  I bought Chefabella to make some cards for my mom's new cooking adventure.  I found this cute paper at the only scrapbook store in Mandeville.  We have a Michael's and the scrapbook store. I would love to run my own stamp store.  The store is starting to get some really cute paper and they also carry Primas now.  I think I am going to use this as RAK for a group I just joined.
